MASTERCLASS | PISTOL THREAT TO HEAD FROM FRONT | by Orjan Pettersen

Each week MASTERCLASS gives you brief but key information on how to optimise a simple Krav Maga strike or technique.

In our NEW and EASY format, these are broken down in 5 short and simple steps for you to train.

This MASTERCLASS covers the defence against PISTOL THREAT TO HEAD FROM FRONT. This technique is to immediately strike the weapon into the aggressor’s face before disarming and striking further with it as a cold weapon.

Our MASTERCLASS shows you how to do this in a few simple steps:

  1. Move both hands up together with open palms, close at upper chest height level in an submissive and compliant manner.

  2. At the right moment, when weapon is stationary or in motion towards you (if moving around), send both hands upwards towards weapon and grab it with both hands from underneath the barrel, pivoting on contact with a continuous movement towards the aggressor’s face (or upper chest if taller than you).

  3. Simultaneously, move your head and shoulders off the firing line as extra protection.

  4. Slam the barrel in to the aggressor and pull it immediately back with the barrel facing towards them in the same line you struck it with, to release the weapon from their grip.

  5. Strike the attacker back into the face again using the same grip, secure the weapon and move behind to strike further with the weapon or further away if not striking.

Do not kick the groin of the attacker after the first strike unless the weapon is released and away from their hands as this may lower their firing line along your own body and unless the weapon is jammed by your grip may fire again if the finger is on the trigger.
