From a young age, Gheorghe studied boxing, fencing and wrestling and spent over 17 years studying traditional martial arts reaching 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan, Red Belt in Taekwondo and Brown Belt in Kyokushinkai under the Romanian Martial Arts Federation (FRAM).

He served for 11 years as a sergeant in the Romanian Army and is a former presidential body guard and is special forces trained, including as a certified Shooting Instructor with Distinction, Physical Training Instructor and Combat (Self Defence) Instructor.

After leaving the army in 2000, he worked in security and close protection, including for VIPs and political figures.

He began his Krav Maga journey in 2002 and is trained by the direct students of Emrich “Imi” Lichtenfeld and Krav Maga masters and experts from Israel.

Gheorghe successfully completed the Krav Maga Civilian Instructor course in 2007 under Eyal Yanilov, KMG.

Two years later, Gheorghe complemented this qualification with a Krav Maga Law Enforcement Instructors Course in Poland.

Since then, Gheorghe has continued gaining and advancing his Krav Maga, Self Defence and Professional Firearms training and knowledge.

During 2017 to 2020 he became Chief Instructor of Engage Academy and wrote, choreographed and movement directed fight scenes for the film ‘Levelling The Score’.

He was also appointed as the England Representative for the Israeli Martial Arts Federation (FIMA) as well as teaching life-saving skills to thousands of children and adults in the UK, Europe and beyond.

Gheorghe's most recent achievement is Krav Maga Master (6th Dan Black Belt) under Grand Master Dr Itay Gil.

He teaches across the world as part of his international Krav Maga United Kingdom network of schools and Engage Academy, as well as his UK school Spartans Academy of Krav Maga.
