Krav Maga is never about fairness.
If it was, only similarly-sized assailants, acting alone, without weapons and a jointly pre-agreed rule-book would attack you.
Indeed, the very act of attacking or threatening you, considering you to be a lower-risk target, means an element of disparity of force to his (or her) advantage is already assumed by the aggressor(s).
Ergo, they are never fair with you to begin with. Being fair in return puts you immediately in a disadvantageous position.
Krav Maga is about outmatching this imposition of unfairness by being even more unfair.
By responding with explosive non-stop force, mixed with deception and feigning, aiming to overwhelm the will and ability of the attacker to continue, you need to be as unfair as possible to secure a safe way out.
Your only consideration is your legal position, never the welfare of the criminal.
The philosophy of Krav Maga makes is especially useful for women or anyone not reliant on power or brute force.
Speed, movement and extremely aggressively targeting primarily vulnerable areas such as throat, eyes and groin cancels out the disparity of power. Throw in a kick to break the knee if possible.
